St. George’s Parish Church

Romanesque Church of Saint George of Manzaneda (12th-13th centuries)
This church is one of the best-preserved examples of Rural Romanesque architecture in Asturias. It features a beautiful main doorway and a magnificent apse crowned by a moulded cornice decorated with a wide variety of carved stone figures. The church was partially destroyed during the Spanish Civil War and rebuilt in the 1940s, when all its altarpieces and religious images were also replaced.
